Quick Misdirection

Quick Misdirection is a fast-hitting play that uses a ball fake and backside screen to create a wide-open layup.

Breakdown

  • Quick hitter designed to catch the backside defense off guard.
  • 1 dribble drives and fakes a pass to 3 on the wing.
  • Meanwhile, 4 sets an upscreen for 2.
  • 2 flashes across the lane and receives the pass for a layup.
  • Timing is key for the fake and the cut.

Coaching Tip

3 should call for the ball to sell the fake. 1 must give a strong ball fake before immediately delivering the pass to 2.
