A fun freeze tag game that builds ball control, awareness, and teamwork using safe, non-slip poly spots as quick escape zones. Perfect for energetic Mini Hoopers.
Spread poly spots around the gym floor. Each player gets a basketball. Choose one or two players to be ātaggers.ā Everyone dribbles freely while taggers try to tag other players. If a player is tagged, they must freeze on their poly spot and hold their dribble in place.
Frozen players can be āunfrozenā when a teammate dribbles over and completes a simple action, such as a high-five or a crossover near them. This teamwork element keeps players connected and encourages awareness, just like movement-heavy games such asĀ Animal Relays. The constant scanning and response also mirror the reaction demands inĀ Coach-Led Reaction.
Allow the game to run for 30ā45 seconds, then switch taggers and reset. Players stay active, dribble continuously, and move in and out of traffic, similar to the simple chaos found inĀ Dribble Tag.

⢠Encourage players to keep eyes up for taggers and teammates
⢠Move with quick, small steps to stay balanced
⢠Celebrate teamwork when players help each other
